What your entrance fee go to..
- Event Space – I will always find a low cost venue when possible. I want the swap to be fantastic and enjoyable so all swaps will be held indoors. I figure some people’s goods may not be water resistant and being in the wind, rain or sun for many isn’t all that pleasant . I am proud to use this event to support local groups and businesses too. Those are my first choices for venues.
- Website fees – I maintain this website and it’s more important that you think. It gives legitimacy to our momentum that some people might scoff at. It’s a place where we can grow our community even when we aren’t in the midst of a swap.
- Miscellaneous – “Day of” supplies like name tags, swap cards, cleaning products and the beverages we provide when possible. I find its really nice to meet people over a cup of coffee or tea especially if its raining out.
- Growth– I want this movement to grow. I want our community to grow. To that end, my hope is to bring this forum to other areas, create an online space for discussion on the handmade and homegrown arts, and bring classes to the members. I think, correct me if I am wrong, that people would be interested in furthering their learning in areas like baking, gardening, landscaping, cheese making, fiber arts and more.
